How do I change my Digital Banking security number or password?
- Log in to Digital Banking at digitalbanking.rbs.co.uk (opens in a new window)
- Select 'Security' from the main menu
- From within the 'Change log in details' section select either 'Change your security number' or 'Change your password'
- Follow the on screen instructions.
Please remember the security number and password you choose will be used with both Digital Banking and telephone banking.
security number criteria
Your new number must have four digits. To keep your security number secure, we won't accept:
- Numbers in an ascending or descending order, for example 1234 or 7654
- The same number three or four times in a row for example 1222 or 7777
Password criteria
Your password needs to be between 8 and 20 characters with both letters and numbers, with no spaces, symbols or special characters.
In addition, please ensure that you follow the guidance below to keep your password secure:
- Avoid using dictionary words, names, or other easily guessable information
- Don't use common patterns like "qwerty" or "1234"
- Consider using a phrase or sentence with a few modifications, like replacing letters with numbers
