What might your home retrofit journey look like?

Retrofitting, or improving your home to make it more energy efficient, can sound complicated. Breaking it down into four steps could help you get started.

1. Energy Performance Certificate

Your home's Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating will tell you how efficient your home is and suggest what you could do to improve it.

2. Funding your plan

Check if you're eligible for any Government grants that could help with your planned improvements. We may also be able to help you fund your improvements.

3. Home Assessment

A qualified energy assessor can survey your property to help you understand which energy saving measures are suited to your home. Depending on the services they offer, they may be able to generate an EPC certificate, if you don't have one or if your property has been improved since the existing EPC was completed. Find out more on the Government's website.

4. Find tradespeople

You may already have tradespeople in mind, who you trust and have experience of. If you don't, you can use the Trustmark website to help find a tradesperson in your area. Trustmark is a Government endorsed quality scheme.
