How did I get infected with a virus and how can I stop it from happening again?
Infections from trojans and viruses usually happen in one of two ways.
- From an unexpected or unsolicited email. These emails often appear to come from large well known companies and may include an attachment or link with a message to try and encourage you to click on them. If you receive a message that you are unsure about, it's best practice not to open it.
- Viruses and Trojans will often take advantage of a computer for which the latest security updates have not been installed. It's important to keep your computer software up-to-date.
