If you don't have enough money in your Travel account to cover a transaction, the full amount of the transaction will be paid from your linked current account in pounds and you may be charged a non-sterling transaction fee.
There are two possible reasons for this:
You can't set up regular payments on a Travel account.
You can top up your Travel account from your linked current account. You can also exchange any remaining euros or US dollars in your Travel account back to pounds in your linked current account at any time.
Transactions made using your Travel account will not appear on your linked current account, but transfers between your Travel account and current account will do so. Your Travel account transactions will appear in your transaction history list when you click into your Travel account. The transaction amount will appear in euros or US dollars depending on the currency of your Travel account.
Click into your Travel account, go to the menu and select 'My transactions'. You'll then be able to see all your transactions listed, including amounts and dates the transactions were made.
You can withdraw up to €200 from a euro Travel account at ATMs fee free every 30 days. After this, ATM transactions will divert to the linked current account until the 30-day clock re-sets. For anything over €200 in a 30-day period, a foreign currency withdrawal fee will apply. Please note that some ATMs will charge their own fees for withdrawing cash. This is set by the individual ATM machine rather than by us.
You can withdraw up to $200 from a US dollar Travel account at ATMs fee free every 30 days. After this, ATM transactions will divert to the linked current account until the 30-day clock re-sets. Yes, you can withdraw as many euros or dollars as you like. However, only the first 200 euros or US dollars withdrawn using a Travel account of that currency will be fee free from us.
Please note, for any withdrawals made that take you over your remaining fee-free allowance, the full withdrawal amount will be subject to a foreign currency withdrawal fee. Local ATMs may also charge their own fees.
If you have a Travel account for US dollar currency and a Travel account for euro currency, each Travel account will have its own independent 30 day rolling ATM withdrawal allowance.
