When abroad at an ATM or point of sale (e.g. a card machine in a restaurant), you might need to select whether you want to pay in local currency or pounds. To use money from your Travel account, you must choose to pay in the local currency. If you choose to pay in pounds, the transaction will debit your linked current account and you may be charged a non-sterling transaction fee.
Click on the specific transaction you want. You'll be presented with a couple of options, one of which is to 'Create PDF'. Click on this option and select whether you'd like to save it to files, print, or send via a medium such as email or WhatsApp.
The Travel account will be visible in the mobile app or on your online banking under your accounts, you'll be able to view it as you would any other account.
When topping up your Travel account, or exchanging back, you'll be presented with a current rate. If you wish to accept this rate, select the button 'Review' which will take you to the next screen showing a summary of the transaction that needs approved. If you're happy with this, select 'Confirm'.
There are no charges or fees on a Travel account. A Travel account is free to set up, and there are no one off or monthly fees or charges. Some ATMs might charge their own fees if you withdraw cash.
If you make a payment and do not hold enough currency in your Travel account to cover the full transaction, the total payment will debit your linked current account, and you may be charged a non-sterling transaction fee.
You can request a refund from a merchant in the same way you would for your current account, by returning the goods directly to the merchant, who will process any refunds in line with their returns policy.

Digital statements are issued monthly (if you've made a transaction in that month). You can download these to save or print. If you wish to receive a paper copy of your statement, or a paper copy in large print or braille, you can request one via our digital assistant, Cora under the 'Help' section in the mobile app. If you already receive accessible statements including large print or braille, you'll continue to receive these.
You cannot alter the frequency of Travel account statements. Travel accounts issue monthly statements if you've made a transaction in that month. If you've not made any transactions during a monthly period, we won’t issue a statement.
