Why has my application been declined?
There may be various reasons why your application has declined.
If you want to look into this further you may wish to contact Equifax at www.equifax.co.uk/(opens in a new window) or Experian at www.experian.co.uk/(opens in a new window).
Equifax and Experian are the credit scoring agencies Royal Bank of Scotland uses.
You have the option to appeal but our decision may stand. You'll need to support your appeal with any additional relevant information that wasn't part of your application.
If you’d like to appeal the decline decision, this can be done by presenting your additional relevant information at any of our branches. You’ll also be required to prove your identity and address again and an additional may application will be keyed. Please note that you may be offered a future appointment if a colleague is not available when you attend the branch.
