How do I stop getting sent One Time Passcodes to my mobile device or being asked to use a card reader every time I log-in to my Royal Bank of Scotland?
One Time Passcode (OTP) and additional card reader authentication is in place to protect you against fraud and ensure it’s you logging in and not a fraudster. However, you might find that you’re seeing OTP or card reader challenges more frequently if you are doing any of the following:
- Logging on from a multiple locations or devices
- Using private browsing
- Using an out of date browser
- Regularly clearing cookies/cache/history (this could be in your internet browser settings to do this automatically)
- Using 3rd party content blocking such as Ghostery or Adblock and/or hiding your IP address (If you are using 3rd party content, you may find it useful to visit the privacy settings and ‘whitelist’ our websites. Please contact the application provider if you require more information)
