We recommend using Safari for iOS/iPad and Chrome for Android to ensure a seamless Add Money experience.

Certain browsers may not automatically redirect you back to our mobile app, resulting in the payment appearing incomplete. If this occurs, please log out and back into our app to verify if the payment was received.

You can enable push notifications for Money in and out of our app to receive real-time updates on your Add Money transactions. To do this, go to 'Settings', 'Notification settings', 'General notifications', and turn on the 'Money in and out' toggle.

Why is my other bank temporarily unavailable for Add money

If you see a 'temporarily unavailable' message for a bank when using Add Money, the bank may be experiencing a technical issue and cannot be used at that time. You will not be able to add money from this bank until it becomes available again.

Technical issues are managed by your other bank, so please contact them for more information. You can still transfer funds to your Royal Bank of Scotland account directly from your other bank by your usual way of banking such as a mobile, online, branch or telephone banking payment.

Add Money Shortcut

What is an Add money Shortcut?

What is an Add money Shortcut

The Add Money Shortcut gives you the option to set up and link a selected Royal Bank of Scotland account with a bank account held elsewhere. You can then add this shortcut to your Home screen, providing a quick and easier way to transfer funds from your linked account held elsewhere to your chosen NatWest account  without going through 'Payments' or selecting your bank each time.

You can have up to three Shortcuts, which can be combination made up of any of the features available.

If you create an Add money shortcut using a Fixed Term Savings account, you will only be able to view and use this when you are able to make deposits to your account. When outside of being able to make deposits, the shortcut will not be visible on your Home screen but will still count toward the three Shortcuts you're allowed. Please note this cannot be deleted or amended outside the deposit window.
