Why won't it let me borrow the amount I've asked for?

Why won't it let me borrow the amount I've asked for?

The amount that we may be able to lend you has been reached based on the information that you provided when completing the Agreement in Principle. We confirm your details with a soft credit check and assess how much you can afford to borrow based on your income and expenditure.

You may wish to review the information you have provided to check it is correct and/or consider any changes that can realistically be made. For example, if you have only completed sole borrower details, should you wish to seek an Agreement in Principle based on two people borrowing the mortgage amount, then you can elect to recalculate(opens in a new window) based on both parties' information and income to be reassessed. Adding the income earned and expenditure for a joint borrower may then help you borrow more.

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage
