How to apply online

Who can apply?

If you’re 11-15, you’ll need a parent or guardian with you to open an account (note: your parent or guardian also needs to hold a current account with us.) If you’re 16-17, you can open this account online yourself.

How can I prepare?

We’ll need some details, such as your current address and contact information.

Start your application

You can apply online right now if you are ready. Just use the section below to tell us about yourself.

Get ready to apply

Before you apply, we need to check you're happy with a few things, and ask you a few questions up front. Then we can make your application as quick and simple as it can be.

First things first. You can apply if you:

  • are aged 11 - 17 and a UK resident
  • If you are aged 11-15, you’ll need to apply with a parent or guardian who has a current account

Now please take a look at the important legal info

How your information might be used

It's important for you to understand how we use and share your information. Please read this short summary before you continue with your application.

All okay? You’re nearly ready to start.

To speed up your application for our Revolve account, we need to do a few final checks with you. They'll only take a minute.

How old are you?
Is your parent or guardian a Royal Bank customer?
Does your parent or guardian know their Royal Bank of Scotland Online Banking details?

You’re all set

We'll need to see a few bits of info in one of our branches after the application to open your account:

  • Proof of ID, like a Passport, birth certificate or PASS card
  • Proof of your address (with your name, or the name of the parent or guardian helping with your application), like a recent bank statement or utility bill
  • Proof of relationship with your parent or guardian, but only if your surname doesn't match theirs

Make sure all of the details you enter in the form are for you, not your parent or guardian. If you have any middle names, please make sure you enter these too.

Ask your parent or guardian to register for Digital Banking

To help kick-start your application, we'll need them to register for Royal Bank of Scotland Digital Banking.

If they've forgotten their login details, don't worry, they can re-register via the same process to get new ones.

What they'll need...

They'll need their bank account sort code and account number, and their Royal Bank of Scotland debit card if they have one.

The good news is that it normally takes about 5 minutes to register.

Your parent or guardian needs to open a current account

We’re sorry, but we can’t proceed with applications where the parent (or guardian) isn’t an existing current account holder. For our full range of current accounts, click the link below.

Once your parent or guardian has received their email confirming their account has been opened and has their digital banking details to hand, please return to this page to complete your Revolve account application.

Do you have any of the following?
You can use any of the documents below but they must have your name and address on, and must match with the name and address you enter into your account online application. Unfortunately we can't accept a mobile phone bill, and they need to be physical documents you have to hand, not downloads.
