Help your team get onboard

Now you’ve added your team to Bankline, there’s a few things you need to do to help them. 

They’ll get support from us too, and with us working together, your users will be up and running in no time.  

Introducing payments

Now that you and your users have access to Bankline you might want to learn more about how making payments works. 

We’ve added an introductory guide to payments on our user getting started hub.

Get the best from Bankline

We often make improvements and introduce new features to Bankline based on customer feedback. We’ll let you know about these changes asthey arrive, and you can keep up with the latest by reading our Bankline blog
 

So far, we’ve covered the essentials. But these optional extras will help you get the very best from Bankline:

Bankline Mobile

Consider if Bankline Mobile could be useful to your team. 

With the app you can take Bankline on the move, and do essential everyday things like:

  • Checking balances and accounts.
  • Raising and approving payments without a smartcard, by using your phone’s biometrics (if your phone has fingerprint and/or face recognition). 
  • Depositing cheques, up to certain daily limits.

Bankline Mobile is available to Bankline customers on selected iOS and Android devices with a UK or international mobile number in selected countries. It’s free to use and download, but standard payments fees still apply.

Bring your other Royal Bank services together in Bankline

If you use other Royal Bank services you may be able to connect some of them in Bankline. This means you could open them securely from your Bankline session, without needing an additional log-in step. 

Currently you can connect your ClearSpend and Agile Markets accounts, and we’ll be adding more services and more integrated features over time.

Account Servicing

Account Servicing lets you complete everyday banking tasks online, without having to pick up the phone or send off forms.

Good housekeeping

Now you’re all set up, we’ve got a few recommendations that will help you run things smoothly and securely.

1. Once a year, run a user audit

Run an audit on your users and their roles to check everyone has what they need. Use this opportunity to check user contact details are up to date and remove any custom roles and users that are no longer needed. You can download a user report from the Admin menu.

2. Review your controls

Every few months, review your Bankline payment limits and general settings as a team. Make sure they’re working as you need them to, and make any adjustments. You can also use this time to review your security processes and make sure everyone is aware of the latest threats.

3. Consider your continuity plans

Consider Bankline as part of your business continuity plans. Do you have enough administrators, and payment raisers and approvers to cover holidays and sick leave?
