We’re pleased to share that you now have 24/7 visibility of the status of your international payments. You can now track both inbound and outbound international payments within new Bankline – just click on ‘International payments tracking’ under the Payments tab.
What is Payment Tracking?
Payment tracking allows you to track inbound and outbound international SWIFT payments from when the payment has been made to the final party in the payment journey. It shows the amount sent, amount received and the status of the payment. There’s no charge for using payment tracking in Bankline and you can track payments up to 120 working days old.
How do I use payment tracking in Bankline?
To track outbound international payments – you’ll be asked to provide a Payment ID (PID) which can be found in the ‘Payment Summary’ screen in Bankline. Your payment must be in an ‘Accepted’ status to be able to track.
To track inbound international payments – you’ll need to enter a Unique End-to-End Transaction Reference (UETR) - you can get this from the person or business sending the payment.
What do the different payment tracking statuses mean?
- Complete – Payment processing is complete, and the amount has been credited to the recipient’s account.
- In Progress – Payment is currently processing through the payment network.
- Rejected – Payment has been rejected (including the reason why).
- Unable to track – Payment has been delivered to a network not visible on the SWIFT channel, so its status can’t be tracked.
If you’ve cancelled your payment, this won’t show as a status, and you’ll instead see the latest status of the payment before it was cancelled. Please contact your customer service team if you need more information.
What types of payments can I track?
You’ll be able to track most international payments which are visible in SWIFT (our payment tracking channel). If your payment type travels via another scheme, such as Euro SEPA payments or Faster Payments, you won’t be able to track your payment.
