International Payment Tracking

We’re pleased to share that you now have 24/7 visibility of the status of your international payments. You can now track both inbound and outbound international payments within new Bankline – just click on ‘International payments tracking’ under the Payments tab.

What is Payment Tracking?

Payment tracking allows you to track inbound and outbound international SWIFT payments from when the payment has been made to the final party in the payment journey. It shows the amount sent, amount received and the status of the payment. There’s no charge for using payment tracking in Bankline and you can track payments up to 120 working days old.

How do I use payment tracking in Bankline?

To track outbound international payments – you’ll be asked to provide a Payment ID (PID) which can be found in the ‘Payment Summary’ screen in Bankline. Your payment must be in an ‘Accepted’ status to be able to track.

To track inbound international payments – you’ll need to enter a Unique End-to-End Transaction Reference (UETR) - you can get this from the person or business sending the payment.

What do the different payment tracking statuses mean?

  • Complete – Payment processing is complete, and the amount has been credited to the recipient’s account.
  • In Progress – Payment is currently processing through the payment network.
  • Rejected – Payment has been rejected (including the reason why).
  • Unable to track – Payment has been delivered to a network not visible on the SWIFT channel, so its status can’t be tracked.

If you’ve cancelled your payment, this won’t show as a status, and you’ll instead see the latest status of the payment before it was cancelled. Please contact your customer service team if you need more information.

What types of payments can I track?

You’ll be able to track most international payments which are visible in SWIFT (our payment tracking channel). If your payment type travels via another scheme, such as Euro SEPA payments or Faster Payments, you won’t be able to track your payment.

Downloadable Statements

We’ve introduced paper equivalent statements and pre-notifications of charges and interest into Bankline. These are digital PDF equivalents of the documents you’d receive by post and are available to download dating back to July 2023, building up over time to contain seven years’ worth of documents.

How this benefits your business

  • You can download digital account statements, pre-notifications of interest and pre-notifications of charges.
  • You can use them in place of physical copies for most purposes, such as validating your business address.
  • You can view and export up to 15 months’ worth of transactions and search and filter for individual transactions.

You can also give yourself a pat on the back for helping protect our environment by reducing paper use.

What privileges do I need in Bankline to access my statements?

You’ll need the ‘View balance’ and ‘View transaction’ privileges for the accounts you want to download documents for. If you don’t have these privileges already don’t worry, your Bankline Administrator can assign them to you.

Removing journeys in original Bankline

We’re beginning to slowly remove certain journeys within original Bankline where the equivalent journey exists in new Bankline. Don’t worry, we’ll give you plenty of notice on journeys that are going to be removed and support throughout. This is all part of transforming Bankline into a platform that better meets your needs and provides you with a great experience.

On this basis, we’ve turned off the ability to order stationery through original Bankline. To order cheque and paying-in books, certificates of interest and balance, you can use Account Servicing in New Bankline.

What is Account Servicing?

Account Servicing lets you complete everyday banking tasks online, without having to pick up the phone or send off forms. You read that right, no more call queues!

How does this benefit me?

  • It’s quick and easy to use, so you can spend more time on your business, and less time on banking admin.
  • Once you’ve set up the privileges, you can get these tasks done anywhere, anytime – you just need to log in to Bankline.
  • You can keep track of your requests from the minute you click submit, and we’ll send you a message once they’re complete.

For more information and support on Account Servicing, visit our Account Servicing webpages.
