The Zero Carbon Tour – organised by Planet Mark, a sustainability certification helping organisations measure and reduce their carbon emissions – has been travelling around the UK to spread the word about the innovative ways businesses are addressing the climate crisis.

Before it returns to London in November, it will be stopping off in Glasgow for the United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP26, where it will gather “carbon stories” from businesses and communities creating a sustainable future for the UK and beyond. More than 7,000 people have attended events in over 100 locations so far, and the team have gathered more than 150 of their carbon stories.

NatWest Group is proud to take part in COP26 as a principal partner. We believe we have a significant responsibility, and the ability, to encourage, enable and lead the way in helping people across the UK to transition to a net zero carbon economy.

Andrew Harrison, Managing Director of Business Banking at NatWest, says: “As the UK’s leading bank for business and a principal sponsor at COP26, we’re committed to signposting the most effective ways for SMEs in all sectors to reduce their emissions, and also take advantage of the growth opportunity that exists in going greener. The Zero Carbon Tour is a fantastic way to learn from other businesses and experts about how to make fundamental changes that will make a real difference.”

The Zero Carbon Tour is an official partner of Race to Zero, the UN-backed global campaign encouraging organisations to take immediate action to halve global emissions by 2030 and deliver a healthier, fairer zero-carbon world in time.

Although the tour is nearing the end of its journey, there are still a few in-person workshops you can join to hear from like-minded local people about the impactful projects they’re undertaking to reduce their carbon emissions.

The events also showcase local organisations in the region pushing the envelope on sustainable development. Alternatively, there are a handful of virtual workshops for those who want to take a deeper dive into understanding how to set a credible net zero target for their business.
