As well as earning Rewards for having 2 Direct Debits at least £2 each (like your phone bill), you can earn even more Rewards at our partner retailers, like Caffe Nero, Morrisons or Sky. You can earn between 1-15% back on your purchases.

Your Rewards balance can grow quickly, they're easy to earn and easy to exchange. Once you reach £5 in Rewards, you can redeem it as cash back into your bank account, donate it or trade it up.

Normally 1.00 in Rewards = £1, but trade up with partner retailers like Cineworld, Argos, or even Avios to get even more for your Rewards. You can also donate them to our selected charities.

Love to travel? Worldwide travel insurance (underwritten by AWP P&C SA and administered by AWP Assistance UK Ltd trading as Allianz Assistance) covers you and your family for trips of up to 31 days. The policy also includes winter sports cover and up to £10 million emergency medical expenses cover.

What you should know:

• Family cover includes you and your partner, plus any dependent children under age 18 at the start of the journey (or under 23 if they’re in full-time education). Children must be living at the home address (or with the other parent) and be neither married nor in a civil partnership.
• Your partner is the person you (the account holder) live with at the same home address in a relationship, whether married or cohabiting.
• You can check online if this travel insurance covers new or existing medical conditions here. An extra fee may apply, or some conditions might not be covered.
• You can also discuss this over the phone by calling 0345 609 0456 (or Relay UK: 18001 0345 609 0456).
• If anyone covered by the policy is aged 70 or over, you will need to pay for a £75 annual age extension upgrade for each person insured aged 70 or over for cover to apply.

If Allianz Assistance are unable to offer you an upgrade to extend the level of cover you need, or your upgrade insurance premium is higher than you expected because you have medical conditions, help could still be available.

When bad things happen to your mobile, you need good cover. Our mobile phone policy covers loss, theft, accidental damage and breakdown (once your manufacturer’s warranty has expired). Underwritten by Aviva Insurance Limited.

What you should know:

• Covers the phone you use on a daily basis. If your account is in joint names, cover is also provided for the phone the other account holder uses on a daily basis. There is no cover for phones owned by your employer.
• 2 approved claims can be made in any 12-month period. If this is a joint account, each account holder can make 2 approved claims, with a maximum of 4 per account.
• Claims are settled by replacing or, in certain circumstances, repairing your phone. Our replacement phones are refurbished handsets in ‘as new’ condition using genuine manufacturer parts. Our repairs use genuine manufacturer or manufacturer quality parts.
• There is a £100 excess for each approved claim when your phone is replaced.
• There is a £50 excess for each approved claim when you choose our convenient walk-in or mobile repair options.
• Replacement phones include a 12-month warranty. Phones repaired by our mobile or walk-in repair agents include a 24-month warranty.

If your car breaks down, you’re sorted, the AA will get you and your vehicle home or to your preferred location, anywhere in the UK, if they can't get your vehicle going again. 

What you need to know about UK car breakdown cover:

• Roadside Assistance - Anywhere in the UK;
• At Home - Get help when your vehicle won't start at home;
• National Recovery - If the AA can't get your vehicle going, they'll take you and your vehicle to a destination of your choice;
• Onward Travel - If your vehicle can't be fixed at the roadside, the AA can help you complete your journey. This may be by arranging a replacement vehicle, booking you a night's accommodation or funding alternative transport costs (i.e. rail fares) where appropriate;
• Accident Assist - A 24/7 accident claims service. The AA will handle your insurance claim - at no additional cost - no matter which company insures you; and
• All your vehicles are covered - Your policy covers any privately registered vehicle you travel in, anywhere in the UK. It also covers your vehicle if it is being driven by someone else with your permission.

Things to remember

• Doesn't cover any repair costs once the insured vehicle has been transported to a garage or repairer.
• Repeat call-outs for the same fault within 28 days won't be covered.

What you should know:

• Some restaurants may exclude tastecard use on Friday or Saturday evenings, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Valentine’s Day, the whole of December and potentially other “event” type days.
• Where restaurants offer 50% off food or 25% off food and drinks they may limit the number of people; where restaurants offer 2 for 1 this does not include side dishes or extras.
• Some restaurants require you to book prior to arriving.

There are two different types of overdraft:

• An arranged overdraft, which allows you to go overdrawn up to an agreed limit.
• An unarranged overdraft. This is when you spend more money than you have in your current account without already having an arranged overdraft, or when you exceed your current arranged overdraft limit

We charge interest on both types of overdraft. Going in to an unarranged overdraft limit can lead to payments being rejected.

All you need to do is tell us the details of your old bank account and when you want the switch to start.

We can't switch savings accounts or ISAs through this service. Any other products you have with your old bank won't be moved at the same time.

Third Party Permissions

If you have given permissions to Third Party Providers to make payments on your behalf, or to access your financial data, access to these services won’t be transferred automatically to your new account as part of the Current Account Switch Service.

Before you close your old account, check whether you have any Third Party Provider permissions set up and if so, who with.

Once your new account is open you can give your permission to the Third Party Provider to access your new account by providing them with your new account details. You will need to contact the Third Party Provider directly yourself to set this up.
