No repayments for up to 12 months
In work or got a firm job offer? You can defer your repayments for up to nine months.
Want to see the world? You can defer your repayments for up to 12 months if you're travelling - as long as you have a firm job offer to return to.
You'll be charged interest during the deferment period. This interest is then repaid as part of the monthly repayments.
Special interest rate
As a graduate, you qualify for tailored interest rates, at just 2.5% above our base rate. At the moment, the rate is 7.7% APR typical (variable).
To apply for both Graduate and Interest free overdraft repayment loans or a Mortgage, you need to be 18 or over and be working or have a firm job offer. Written quotations available on request by writing to The Royal Bank of Scotland plc, 36 St Andrew Square, Edinburgh EH2 2YB. Security and life assurance may be required.
Authorised overdrafts: Graduate customers are offered interest-free overdrafts, by prior arrangement of up to £2,000 in the 1st year, £1,500 in 2nd year and £1,000 in the third year of graduation. Any authorised borrowing in excess of the relevant overdraft level for your year of study will normally be calculated at a higher margin above our Base Rate (typical Effective Annual Rate of 9.65%). Alterations to the Bank's Base Rate will be advertised in the national press.
Unarranged overdrafts: Overdrawn balances which arise without formal agreement, or are in excess of agreed limits, may be charged interest at a maximum rate of 2.20% per month. This is equivalent to an Effective Annual Rate of 29.84% (effective from 1/7/96).
