Account information by text or email with our Alerts Service
Great news - we've improved our range of Alerts to give you even more account information, so you can keep up to date with your personal current and savings accounts, day and night.
You can get the following Alerts:
Activity Alerts
Get a text message when you carry out certain activities on your account – you stay informed and secure.
Balance Alerts
Get a text with your updated balance each week whenever it suits you - helps you stay in control of your accounts anytime, anywhere.
Act Now Alerts
Get a text or email if you are about to become overdrawn, or are already using an unarranged overdraft – helps you minimise or even avoid overdraft and returned item fees.
How to register and manage your Alerts
Online – the quickest and easiest way to register
If you're an online banking customer you can register and manage your Alerts online. If you are not registered for online banking, sign up today.
If you already bank online just log on, select 'Alerts' from the left-hand menu, then select the ‘Manage your alerts' button on the next page
Over the phone or at your local branch
If you have a current or savings account with RBS, you can register for Alerts at your local branch or by calling 0845 724 2424. If you come into a branch, please bring your debit card with you or some form of photo identification such as a current passport or UK photo card driving licence.

Already registered?
If you have previously registered for Alerts though our website or through our mobile banking application you are able to manage these Alerts through online banking, in branch or over the phone.
To change the mobile number where your alerts are sent visit online banking, you can even change your number in branch or by calling us.
To request a balance or mini-statement, showing the most recent transactions on your account at any time, text BAL to our new number 83727.
iPhone user?
iPhone customers can manage balance and threshold alerts through the iPhone application. Alerts within the iPhone app are separate and can not be managed in online banking.
Please remember we will never ask you for your PIN or Password details by text or email.
