RBS supports families and businesses affected by storms and floods

As many UK communities continue to battle flooding, we are offering support to those affected. Any RBS mortgage customer with a flooded home will be able to apply for a three month mortgage repayment holiday to help them manage any short-term financial difficulties as a result of the floods.

Who is eligible?

  • All RBS mortgage customers whose home has been affected by the floods.

What does a payment holiday mean?

  • Customers can choose to defer their mortgage payments for three months from their next payment date.
  • After the three month period, customers can choose to extend their term or return to an adjusted monthly payment in order to repay their mortgage as per the original term.
  • Please note, Interest will continue to accrue during the payment holiday and your monthly payments may increase afterwards.
    YOUR HOME OR PROPERTY MAY BE REPOSSESSED IF YOU DO NOT KEEP UP REPAYMENTS ON YOUR MORTGAGE.

  • We will offer this support for the duration of this adverse weather period.

If you hold a RBS Home Insurance policy and need to make a claim please contact us on:

0800 051 1450 and press opt 2 to make a claim. (Minicom 0800 404 6160).

Lines open 8am-8pm Monday to Friday and 9am-5pm Saturday.

What other support is available to customers impacted by adverse weather?

  • If you have been impacted and need to speak to someone about general help please visit us in branch or call us on 03457 24 24 24. (Minicom 0800 404 6160).
  • In the event your debit card has been lost or destroyed due to flooding, we can provide you with Emergency cash. Just call us to report your card missing and get a six-digit code which you can use to access money from any RBS, NatWest or Ulster cash machine. You can access up to 300 if you're a Digital or Phone Banking customer and up to 60 if you're not.

Eligibility Criteria

To use our Emergency Cash Service you must:

Be a RBS customer.

Have at least 20 available in your account.

Have enough money available to cover what you take out.
