Paying cash into credit cards

On 1 November new regulations came into effect which change the way payments are made across Europe. We are working to these new regulations on account information and payment transactions in Euro, sterling and other EU and EEA currencies.

If you pay in cash through one of our branch counters for your RBS Private Banking credit card, there will be a slight delay in accommodating some of these requirements due to the need to undertake extensive system changes.

During this period where you need to ensure that your payment is reflected in your credit card balance within two business days of having been made, then we recommend that you use alternative payment mechanisms to paying in cash for the time being – e.g. Faster Payments.

Interim changes have been made to ensure that you are not disadvantaged in terms of inappropriate application of fees, although should you have any concerns regarding charges on statements then please discuss with us.
