When your cards are lost or stolen, the consequences can be far-reaching. Black Account Card Protection eases the burden – whether you’re at home or abroad.
You’re covered automatically
There’s no need to apply for Black Account Card Protection – you’re covered automatically for all your cards, whether they are with RBS or not.
Minimise the disruption should the worst happen
- Emergency assistance - round-the-clock cover, worldwide.
- Fraudulent card use - up to £20,000 where your card issuer deems you liable.
- Card cancellation – we will arrange for all your missing cards to be cancelled and replacements ordered and cover any cost up to £100 a year.
- Emergency cash advance - up to £5,000, subject to status, repayable within 28 days. You need to have enough money in your account or overdraft charges may apply.
Main exclusions
Card Protection doesn’t cover:
- Any loss in excess of £20,000.
- Any courier costs incurred in delivering an emergency card to you.

Q. Does my card provider not cover me for unauthorised use of my card?
A. Once your card issuer is notified of the loss or theft of your cards, they will cover you for any further unauthorised transactions. In the vast majority of situations, they will also cover you for unauthorised transactions that occur before they were notified of your card loss. However, there are some situations where they won't cover you before they were notified, which is where Card Protection steps in.
