Terms and conditions
- The prize draw is open to customers of RBS who are aged 18 or over, are UK residents, and who have opted to receiving online bank statements. A pre-requisite to receiving online bank statements is registering for Digital Banking at rbs.co.uk/digital or in branch.
- The draw is not open to employees of John Brown Group or The Royal Bank of Scotland Group of companies, their families or anyone associated with this draw.
- One entry per account (including for joint accounts) registered for online bank statements. Mortgage Accounts, Loans, Investments and Credit Card Accounts are excluded from the draw, as it not possible to receive online bank statements on these accounts.
- The winner will be selected at random on 1 September 2009 from all Royal Bank of Scotland and NatWest accounts switched-on to receive online bank statements on 31 August 2009. In order for an account to qualify, log on to Digital Banking, click on the statements link, select ‘Start or stop receiving bank statements by post’, and select ‘No’ to receiving statements by post. If you are not a Digital Banking customer, you can apply for Digital Banking at rbs.co.uk/digital or at your local branch.
- Entries not submitted in accordance with these rules will be disqualified.
- The prize on offer is your personal mortgage paid for twelve months up to the value of £20,000. There is one such prize available. The prize will be paid in twelve monthly instalments, and calculated by multiplying by twelve your monthly mortgage bill in the month of September 2009. Although the prize is not restricted to customers with a mortgage from RBS, all business mortgages are excluded from being paid as the prize. No cash alternative is available.
- The winner will be required to provide proof of ownership of the mortgage account selected to be paid.
- The winner will be notified within seven days after the draw by email or telephone. It is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure that their email address and telephone number are registered correctly on their account(s).
- The winner’s name and county of residence will be available by sending an SAE to RBS Online Statements Prize Draw, 2 Waterhouse Square, 138-142 Holborn, London, EC1N 2TH, 14 days after the draw date. The winner agrees to take part in publicity in connection with this prize draw. The judge's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. If a prize is unclaimed after reasonable efforts have been made to contact the winner, the promoter will be entitled to dispose of the prize as it sees fit without any liability to the winners for having done so. The promoter reserves the right to alter, amend or foreclose the promotion without prior notice. The promoter is The Royal Bank of Scotland plc.
