Great cover for your mobile, iPhone or PDA
Select Silver Mobile Phone Insurance looks after your mobile wherever you are. It protects your registered phone against loss, damage, theft, breakdown and unauthorised calls.
If you have a joint account, you can cover one phone per account holder up to a maximum original retail value of £750 for each phone.
Mobile insurance cover
- Up to £750 replacement value – for each phone. If your phone is worth more than £750, you’ll only be covered up to £750.
- Loss, theft, accidental damage and breakdown cover – including water, liquid and malicious damage, and electrical or mechanical fault.
- Unauthorised calls cover – up to £1,000 for monthly contracts and £100 for pay as you go customers.
- Worldwide protection – wherever you are in the world, you’re covered. Repair or replacement will be arranged on return to the UK.
- Accessories up to £200 per claim – that were lost, stolen or damaged at the same time as your phone. Accessories include chargers, cases, earphones and memory cards.
Cover two phones with a joint account
If you have a Select Silver joint account, both account holders can register their mobile to benefit from the cover.
Main exclusions
- Maximum claims – two claims for each account holder during any 12 month period.
- Excess – £50, or £100 for iPhone.
- Start date – your cover will begin 14 days after you register your details.
- Proof of purchase – you need to provide this for any claim.
- Ownership – the phones must be owned by you or another account holder. Two authorised users can also be covered for each phone.
- Claims procedure – follow the process shown in how to make a claim. This also tells you how much time you have to make your claim.

You have to register your claim within 48 hours of discovering the loss or other incident.
If your phone has been lost, stolen or maliciously damaged, you have to do the following within 24 hours of discovering the loss:
- Inform the police and get an incident reference number.
- Contact your mobile phone operator to stop any further unauthorised calls being made.

Please have your Select Silver Account number, mobile phone number or IMEI number and any Police incident number to hand. We will send you a claim form which you must return within 30 days along with a payment to cover the excess.
If you are outside of the UK when you discover the incident, you must register your claim within 48 hours of return to the UK. Please note we won’t replace your device until you return to the UK.
Q. Which phones can I cover?
A. The policy covers most mobile phones, including the iPhone, Smart phones and PDAs.
You may register the details of one mobile phone per Select Silver Account. If the Select Silver Account is held in joint names, then each account holder is entitled to register one phone each. The details of the joint account holder must also be registered with us. However, the phones covered by this policy must be owned by you or joint account holder. Two authorised users can also be covered for each phone.

A. Your cover will start 14 days after you register. You will not be able to make a claim for any incident which occurs within this period.
back to topQ. What do I need to register my phone?
A. You will need to tell us:
- Your name and address.
- The mobile phone number(s).
- The make, model, and IMEI number of the mobile phone(s).
- Whether the mobile phone is on a monthly contract or pay-as-you-go.
- Your Select Silver Account number and sort code.
- Your date of birth.
Q. How do I find the IMEI number for my phone?
A. Your Phone’s IMEI number should be displayed when you enter *#06# on the keypad.
back to topQ. Can I swap my cover to a new phone?
A. Yes. Simply tell us if you have changed phone.
If the new phone and/or SIM card is to replace a phone and/or SIM card that is already registered, then it is covered immediately after you tell us.
If you would like to cover an alternative phone, you must tell us as soon as possible.
