back to topQ. I lost some of my tracks because of a computer error. Can I download them again?

back to topQ. I receive an error while trying to download, what should I do?
A. As the download manager requires the latest version of Java to be installed on your computer, it may be that you either do not have Java installed, or there is a new update available. If this is the case simply visit www.java.com and install the free Java download.
If you receive any error codes or require further assistance, please complete the Contact Us form with details of the issue. We will respond to your query within one business day.
back to topQ. Is it legal to download from hmv.com?
A. All downloads from hmv.com are authorised by the content owners and are legal.
back to topQ. What is the bitrate / file format of hmvdigital downloads?
A. Although the bitrate for downloads is set by the content provider, most titles are at 256kbps or 320kbps.
All downloads are in the MP3 file format.
back to topQ. When trying to download I receive the error 'Oops, your browser doesn't recognise the applet tag'. What should I do?
A. As the download manager requires Java version 6 update 15 or above to be installed on your computer, if you are receiving the error code 'Oops, your browser doesn't recognise the applet tag' it simply means that a Java update is required on your computer. To do this please visit www.java.com and select the 'Free Java Download' option.
Please note that we have had some known issues whilst using our service on Internet Explorer version 6, 7 and 8. Therefore if you are currently using Internet Explorer and experiencing problems downloading, we recommend simply using a different browser such as Firefox, Safari or Chrome. These browsers are completely free and very simple to install if you do not already have them on your system, a simple Google search will direct you to the appropriate downloads page. You should then be able to continue using the service with no further problems.
back to topQ. If I download three tracks can I go back and download another two in the same month?
A. Yes, provided you return and make more selections in the same calendar month, you can download your five tracks over multiple visits. Remember to access your account through the RBS Membership Services Site.
back to topQ. If I only download two tracks one month can I carry the other three forward to the next month and download eight that month?
A. No, if you don’t use your full download allowance in one month you can’t carry it forward to the next.
back to topQ. Can I order more than five tracks a month and pay for the excess over five?
A. Yes, you can choose as many tracks as you like. The promotional code you’ll receive each month gives you five tracks at no cost. You’ll be asked for your credit or debit card details if you want to buy any more tracks.
back to topQ. Why am I having difficulty logging in?
