ISA Deadlines


The current tax year (2009/2010) ends on Monday 5th April 2010


As the current tax year ends on a bank holiday weekend, we recommend that any cash ISA application and transactions are made as early as possible. To ensure you take advantage and maximise your cash ISA allowance for the current tax year we recommended the following:

Funding your RBS Instant Access Cash ISA

Digital Banking - Please make deposits for this tax year as early as possible to reach your RBS Instant Access Cash ISA account by 1st April 2010.

We will of course process any payments we receive until 5th April 2010 but for your benefit please allow 3 working days for any payments coming from an another provider.

Opening an RBS Instant Access Cash ISA

Apply in branch:

You can open an Instant Access Cash ISA at any RBS branch straightway if you bring your identification documents with you. The last day you can open an account for the current tax year is Thursday 1st April 2010 (or Saturday 3rd April 2010 for Saturday branches).



Apply by internet or telephone:

  • After 22nd March 2010, you may run the risk of not having your Instant Access Cash ISA account opened in time for the current tax year.
  • Applications after 22nd March that have received an account number and sort code will be ready to be used after 24 hours of opening.
  • Applications after 22nd March that have only an application reference - we recommend that you take the following identification documents and complete your account opening at your local branch by Thursday 1st April 2010.
