Our Online and Mobile security promise
We promise to help protect you when you bank online or on your mobile
Our priority is to make banking online or on your mobile as safe and secure as possible. That’s why we give you our Online and Mobile Security Promise. This is our commitment to you in the event of fraud and gives clear guidance on what you need to do to protect yourself.
How we protect you
If you become a victim of fraud when banking with us online or on your mobile, we promise to refund any money taken from your account in full provided:
- You don’t give your Digital or Mobile Banking security details to anyone else, including your Customer Number, PIN or Password
- You don’t log in to Digital Banking using a Card-Reader
- You follow the security requirements in our Digital Banking Terms and Conditions and Mobile Banking Terms and Conditions
How you can protect yourself
- Keep your computer’s security software (e.g. antivirus and firewall) up-to-date and run regular security scans.
- Download our free Rapport security software. This gives you an additional layer of security when you bank online
- Use reasonable care when using digital or mobile banking. For instance, make sure you log off at the end of each session; don’t leave your computer or mobile unattended when you’re logged on; and watch out for people looking over your shoulder when you’re using mobile banking in public.
- Never enter your digital banking details in full on any websites or mobile applications
- Inform us as soon as possible of any potential security breach. Report suspected online or mobile fraud now.
- If you lose your mobile handset ensure you cancel with your phone operator straight away
This is just one of many commitments we give you
We're making a number of changes to improve the way we help our customers. Keeping you safe when banking online and on your mobile is just one of them. More about our Customer Charter and the 14 commitments we give you.
