RBS Secure
RBS Secure is a new service making shopping online safer
What is RBS Secure?
RBS Secure provides added protection to internet purchases by allowing you to use a password to authenticate payments. This ensures that only the genuine cardholder is making the purchase, giving greater peace of mind.
So, how does it work?
It's simple. You begin by selecting your own private password. When you shop and check out at participating online merchants, you are automatically prompted to enter some random characters from the password – this verifies you as the genuine cardholder, just like entering a PIN at the ATM.
Can I register more than one card?
Yes, you can register any Royal Bank of Scotland, MINT or NatWest credit or debit card. The only requirement is that all cards must be in your own name.
How do I register?
The new service is absolutely free and once you have registered you can start making secure purchases using your RBS card. There's no need to sign up for a new card, or download any new software.
If you do not register here, retailers may ask you to register your card whilst completing a purchase: the process is very similar. If you do not register at all your transaction may be declined as part of our anti-fraud policy.
