You can still write cheques, but you are no longer able to use your Visa Debit card to guarantee the payment. As a result some retailers or businesses may no longer accept cheques.

For example, in the past you may have used your Visa Debit card to guarantee cheques to pay a tradesman however you are no longer be able to do this. There are alternative ways to pay such as a Standing Order or Direct Debit. For help, visit the alternative payment section or call into your local branch.
