If you're over 18, an overdraft can give you flexibility and access to some extra money (subject to eligibility and account holding).
Borrow up to your approved limit at any time, and:
- Increase or decrease your limit whenever you want
- Only pay interest on what you borrow - within your agreed limit
- No need to renew your overdraft

About the service
You can get Mobile banking if:
- You are a RBS customer registered for Digital Banking
- You have a personal account with a debit card
- You're over 11 and have a mainland UK mobile number starting 07
RBS will not charge you for any Mobile Banking services, however, your mobile network provider might charge depending on your tariff.

Our Digital Banking service
Our digital banking service helps you:
- Stay in control - digital banking makes looking after your money even easier
- Bank when it suits you - day and night, you can do your banking whenever it suits you
- Transfer money - make instant transfers to any RBS account - and transfer money to other UK bank accounts
- Pay bills - forget cheques, it's quicker and safer to send money online. You can even set up standing orders for regular payments and manage your Direct Debits
- Manage your account - check balances and statements, searching through up to seven years of transactions. It's easy to find what you're looking for.
- Stay safe - with free security software, card readers and secure servers, we're working hard to beat the fraudsters
To sign up for digital banking you need to have a RBS account and be aged 16 or over.
Please note that system updates will mean that digital banking is unavailable for short periods in the early hours of the morning.
Emergency Cash
If your debit card is lost or stolen and find yourself short of money, we can provide you with emergency cash.
Just phone the bank report your card missing and get a six-digit code which you can use to access money from any RBS, NatWest or Ulster cash machine.
You can access up to £300 if you're an online or phone banking customer and up to £60 if you're not.
To use this service you must:
- be a RBS customer
- have at least £25 available in your account
- have enough money available to cover what you take out
