Spend with your RBS credit or debit card abroad before 30 September to enter the prize draw

Every time you make a purchase abroad with your RBS Credit Card or Visa Debit, you’ll be entered into our fabulous prize draw. The more you spend with your RBS card between 1 July 2010 and 30 September 2010, the more chance you have of winning – good luck!

1. Prize draw open to customers and non-customers aged 18 or over who are UK residents. Draw not open to employees of the Royal Bank of Scotland group of Companies, their families or anyone associated with this draw.
2. To enter, use your RBS Credit Card or RBS Visa Debit for purchases abroad between 1 July 2010 and 30 September 2010. You will automatically be entered into the prize draw each time you use your card to make a purchase. There is no limit to the number of times you’ll be entered. Purchases are normally posted within five working days of the purchase. No liability will be accepted for any delay resulting in purchases not being posted by the draw date of 29 October 2010. ATM withdrawals, cash advances, balance transfers and money transfers are not eligible transactions for prize draw entries
3. No purchase necessary. Please send your name and address on a plain piece of paper to Debit/Credit International Usage Free Prize Draw, Business House E, 1st Floor, PO Box 1000, Edinburgh EH12 1HQ for entry, to be received by
   30 September 2010. Entries are not returnable.
4. Entries not submitted in accordance with these rules, delayed or damaged, incomplete, altered or illegible will be disqualified. No responsibility is accepted for entry lost, delayed or damaged in the post. Proof of posting will not be accepted as proof of entry.
5. The winner will be drawn at random on 29 October 2010 and will be awarded the following prize: A ‘dream holiday’ worth £5000. A maximum of £500 of this value can be taken as spending money. The winner must pay the difference if the holiday value is greater than £5000. The winner will forfeit any portion of the prize value, which is unused at the time of booking. The holiday must be chosen from a Thomas Cook brochure, booked through the Thomas Cook Travel Rewards team by 31 March 2011 and travel taken no later than
   31 December 2011. The winner cannot make bookings through Thomas Cook shops or the Thomas Cook website.
6. The winner will be notified by phone or post within 10 days of the prize draw taking place. The name and country of the winner will be made available upon written request by sending a SAE to Winners List – Debit/Credit International Usage Prize Draw, Business House E, 1st Floor, PO Box 1000, Edinburgh EH12 1HQ.
7. There is no cash alternative and the prize is non transferable.
8. The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
9. The winner agrees to take part in publicity in connection with the prize draw.
10. If a prize is unclaimed after reasonable efforts have been made to contact the winner the promoter will be entitled to dispose of the prize as it sees fit without liability to the winner for doing so.
11. The promoter reserves the right to alter, amend or foreclose the promotion without prior notice.
12. By entering this prize draw, entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Charges while you’re abroad

Charges apply when using a Credit Card or Visa Debit abroad. Any transaction in a foreign currency is converted into sterling at our prevailing exchange rate and a transaction fee of 2.75% is subsequently applied.

For transactions carried out in a foreign currency or sterling the following charges are applied. For credit cards a charge of 3% (min £3) applies for any cash machine withdrawal. For debit cards, there is a charge of £1.25 for each purchase or 2% (min £2, max £5) for cash machine withdrawals.
