These offers are only available to customers of The Royal Bank of Scotland who will be 1st year undergraduates commencing their first year Higher Education course in 2009 who open a Student Royalties account between 1 June and 31 October 2009.

You must use your account as your main current account. This means that the account should be used for the purpose of ordinary banking transactions, with at least 1 credit transaction on your account every 3 months and at least 3 debit transactions per month during term time (which can include debit card transactions (point of sale), cashline transactions, direct debits and standing orders).

All account openings are subject to acceptance.

Arranged Overdrafts:

As part of your RBS Student Royalties account you are eligible to apply for a preferential arranged overdraft rate of 0% EAR. If you're applying to open your RBS Student Royalties account from 1 June 2009 onwards in order to receive this preferential rate you must use your account as your main current account as described above. If at anytime you stop using the account as your main current account then we reserve the right to remove your preferential arranged overdraft rate. We will notify you in writing not less than 30 days prior to removing your preferential overdraft terms.

Up to £2750 whilst you are a student. The amount of overdraft you get depends on your personal circumstances. You need to be aware that you may not get the full £2,750 overdraft. Overdraft repayable on demand

If you apply for the RBS Travel Package, the 3 Year 16-25 Railcard and/or the Bus Discounts will be dispatched to you only after you have registered for online banking and online statements by 31 October 2009.

RBS Travel Package

  1. With the RBS Travel package you can apply for a 3-Year 16-25 Railcard, Bus Discounts or 3-Year 16-25 Railcard and Bus Discounts.
  2. Your Railcard will only be renewed to you on an annual basis provided that you remain registered for online banking and online statements and you have continued to use your account as your main bank account.
  3. Bus discounts - Promotional bus travel offers valid for RBS student Royalties accounts opened between 1 June and 30 November.
  4. In order to receive your RBS Travel package you must register for online banking and online statements by 30 November 2009.

  3. Memory stick worth £8.24, and includes 4 months’ access to Squirrel Save Unlimited at £5.69 per month, totalling £31.75, plus Rapport software from Trusteer.

    Terms for free SquirrelSave offer

    This agreement is made by and between Memset Ltd. (provider of the SquirrelSave service) and the bank customer, and relates to the special offer made available to RBS, Natwest & Ulster bank customers. The special offer comprises of:

    1. 4 months free trial period of the unlimited service, with the option to continue to subscribe to the standard unlimited service, conditions apply.

    Conditions

    1. The Customer agrees to the standard terms of service described at www.squirrelsave.com/terms.php
    2. This offer shall be available between 1 June 2009 and 31 December 2009.
    3. The Customer agrees to provide Memset with credit or debit card details in order to initiate the four month trial of the unlimited service, and accepts that if they have not informed Memset by the end of that trial they will be charged at the standard service rate of £4.95 per month (including VAT).
