Bogus RBS Email
Have you responded to a bogus Royal Bank of Scotland email?
Phishing emails - Be Aware!
Customers of many banks, including The Royal Bank of Scotland, have been receiving e-mails that appear to come from their own bank. Do not respond to these emails if you receive one. These e-mails are examples of a common type of email fraud known as 'phishing'.
Phishing involves customers receiving an unsolicited e-mail claiming to be from their bank. These emails attempt to direct the recipient to internet sites asking for personal, security or account information. These e-mails are completely random and are not from The Royal Bank of Scotland. They are fraudulent attempts to obtain personal details.
At The Royal Bank of Scotland we will never ask our customers for any personal information by e-mail. If you receive such an email, before deleting it, please attach it to a new email and send it to phishing@rbs.co.uk
If you think you may have responded to a phishing email with your Online Banking security details, please call us immediately on 0845 600 8212 (+44 131 317 4597 from outside the UK). We are open 24 hours a day (calls may be recorded).
