Making an International Payment

  1. From the main menu select Payments - Make Payment.
  2. Select the Destination Country in International or other UK payments box.
  3. Enter the details of this payment.

    • If you have previously selected destination countries in your payment preferences, then these countries will appear in the dropdown list, otherwise all countries will be shown.
    • If you have set debit account preferences, then the default debit account will appear.
    • Sort codes are mandatory if the payment is being made from a sterling account.
    • Select either Date Payment Initiated or Date Payment to Arrive and enter the appropriate date.
    • Select a currency type from the drop down box. Enter the amount for the payment.
    • Enter a reference for your records.
    • Priority options showing for payment delivery depend on your user privileges.
    • Select Electronic or Draft for payment method.
    • Enter the beneficiary's name and account details. Select the currency type they are to receive.
    • If you have pre-booked a foreign exchange rate, simply enter the deal reference number and agreed foreign exchange rate where indicated.
    • Confirm who will pay the foreign bank charges.
    • Confirm who will pay our charges. Specify an account to be debited if you are paying them.

    To make some international payments you will need to enter additional information to ensure your transaction is processed without delay

  4. Click on Make Payment at the foot of the screen.

    • You can check all the details are correct before confirming the payment.
    • There are options to go back and edit the details, save the payment as a template to use in the future, or save the payment details so you can return to it later to confirm it.
  5. Click on Confirm Payment.
  6. The payment then follows the normal authorisation process.
